two ways: wait for spam and delete the spammers from your list (my approach)
moderate your list - this can slow down traffic to a crawl though since all traffic has to be approved by a human I hadn't thought of the pirahanna method -- I'll have to take that one into consideration. It could be useful for more than just spammers.
