The STN box is probably generating more collisions because it's
sending more data. I've discovered that enabling full-duplex on my
network cards causes them to have a ton of collisions, since they
send data at the same time as receiving it (think of it as two cars
going opposite directions on a one-lane road). Try turning off full-
duplex on all of your network cards.
