> Has anybody gotten Net2Phone to work through STN?
Hi Lawrence,
Did you try following the instructions that net2phone has for getting
through a firewall? They're here:
http://www.net2phone.com/english/help/otherprob.html
You'll also have to configure STN to allow the ports you choose. On the web
administer, select Advanced Setup->Network->Configure->User Specified
Inbound Services
Choose the following:
Service=USER1 # the first one available
EN=Checked
Prot=both
Port=23432 # out of the clear blue sky
IP=192.168.0.12 # this will probably be different for you
Once you hit OK at the bottom, the changes take effect right away, no need
to reboot.
You'll have to edit the C:\windows\net2phone.ini file. When I did it looked
kinda like this:
____________BEGIN of net2phone.ini_____________
[Config]
PriCall=call1.net2phone.com
AltCall=call2.net2phone.com
RegServer1=reg1.net2phone.com
RegServer2=reg2.net2phone.com
TCPPORT=23432
UDPPORT=23432
[AccountInfo]
Source=IDT_ENGLISH
[URLS]
FAQ=http://www.net2phone.com/%L%/help
...
____________END of net2phone.ini_____________
When this was done, I restarted the net2phone program and the setup wizard
ran. It successfully completed the network test. I was unable to finish
the test though, seems the recording option of my sound card stopped
working. I guess that's what I get for buying a $7 sound card at Fry's :/
Regards,
John Lombardo
