STN 2.1.2pre1 is available for immediate download at:

This is mostly a bug fix release. Among the problems resolved are:
- Error 50003 after installing on very old versions of Windows 95.
- Inbound FTP now works correctly with browsers.
- IRC users should now be able to connect to sites that require identd.
Note that this is a pre-release, so you should keep your old diskette around
in case you find trouble.
Things I'd like feedback on:
1) The speed of my site. I'm using a company called hostserver.com to host
ShareTheNet.com, and I believe the site is getting slower and slower. I
just uploaded the software and only got 8.58 k/sec on my 768kbps bi
directional DSL line. On a good day I see about 70k/sec to other sites.
2) Installation problems. I had to change the way certain files are
installed on the Windows box to get rid of the error 50003 on old windows 95
machines. There shouldn't be a problem with what I did, but I want to make
sure that the new install works everywhere.
3) Advertising. I'm looking for ways to get the word out. ShareTheNet
seems to be very stable and feature rich for the price, so if anyone has any
ideas on how to really get the word out, I would like to hear them.
