I imagine that it would be possible to have two envi files, one for each
configuration and run some sort of a tail/grep combo to accomplish this or
even a checkhostalive type script?

I.e. if an external host is not available for x many seconds then rename
/mnt/envi to /mnt/envi-cbl-1 and then rename /mnt/envi-mdm-1 to /mnt/envi
and reboot (or just ./STN)?

perhaps someone more experienced with shell scripting can whip something up?
