John,

Am running the VPN connector on a Win95 box. WinNT must be very similar.
Just set it up normally as if you were using a dial-up but do not specify a
dial-up to use. When you execute the VPN connection it goes straight to LAN.

No changes to the STN setup. It works just fine vanilla. The NAT STN uses
does not impact the PPTP/VPN protocol at all.

Steve.

Kewl!

If I could, can you tell me settings you use. I have not set up STN in any
more than a testing environment, but MSs VPN has recently become an
requirement.

The Site..

56k dial-up to the STN box.
Ethernet LAN supporting WinNT (4.0) boxen only one of which needs to make a
PPTP/VPN connection to an "outside" network.

Since I'm so new at the VPN game, I'm not sure what settings will need
tweaking in my STN box or my WinNT box.

Can you help???

I can tell you that PPTP via Microsoft's VPN connector works well trough an
STN box. Am using it regularly.

I'm all for that!!!

I too have been using DynIP for a long time (http://sandbox.dynip.com) on my
NATd linux-connected network.

At the same time, I'm looking to add MicroSoft's PPTP and VPN software to my
LAN..
