Ok I am experiencing a weird problem and am not sure how to fix it. I have
a couple win98 machines that use Outlook to share contacts and calendars
via the web. This is done by emailing the updates through my isp's pop3
server. This has been working flawlessly for a year or so. I have
ShareTheNet setup and also a Windows based share solution (Sygate). I
recently started testing ShareTheNet. It works perfectly except when
either of the two win98 machines try to connect with the pop3 server from
my isp and retrieve email. If there are any folder updates generated by
Outlook then it will cause Outlook to error out. It appears to be a
timeout. I can switch back to Sygate and then the emails will download.
The format of the folder update is the MS winmail.dat attachment type.
All other emails with or without attachments can be retrieved as normal
with ShareTheNet. I have pretty much a out of the box setup. ShareTheNet
runs on a 486-66, 8 megs, Lucent 56k Modem, and a 3com3c509 NIC. It does
boot off of a HD and I have added some port settings for ICQ in the 20000+
range.

Sincerely,
Greg Wentzel
