To finally jump in....
I have a socks.tbz on my STN disk (2.13), while it runs....I don't know what I
need to do to get it to work. I've tried pointing ICQ at it, which seems to
work...but didn't solve the problem I was having with it (file transfers).
AIM seems okay with it, but I haven't extensively tested it. But, Yahoo
Messenger and Netscape won't work. I'm guessing there's something with IPmasq
that needs to be done to get Socks5 to pass.
When it unpacks....it creates:
bin/socks5
etc/socks5.conf
etc/rc/S70socks
All 'etc/rc/S70socks' does it call /bin/socks5
My etc/socks5.conf is:
# A Socks5 Config file for a dual homed server
#
# Interface lines are of the form:
# interface dest-host dest-port interface-address
interface 192.168.0. - eth0
interface - - eth1
permit - - 192.168.0. - - -
All I did was compile the socks5-1.0r10 from NEC.....
Mostly likely reason for 'foo not found' errors, is that foo is not in your
command PATH.
