Suddenly for the last couple of weeks, Outlook Express will no longer retrieve messages from the Hotmail http server. I get the following message: Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80042007 There have been a lot of questions on the news groups about this, and the solution usually takes the form of the following: "Because your http traffic is passing through a proxy server or firewall, and that device doesn't support the WebDAV extensions that HTTPMail uses. If you have proxy support turned on in IE, and HTTPMail works when you turn it off, you should be able to configure your proxies to to work for HotMail too." What does all this mean, and is it something I need to do in ShareTheNet? It seems that others who have Bellsouth.net ADSL are experiencing this problem. I don't know if it is a conflict with Bellsouth or ShareTheNet. Any ideas anyone? _______________________________________________ ShareTheNet maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.webserv.com/mailman/listinfo/sharethenet
