RESEND - Any tips before I head to bean town to configure STN on MediaOne/RoadRunner? I know there has to be someone who did this already - any thing to share? The home where I'm going to install this has a mixed environment of Macs & Wintel boxes. Does that complicate things? Not being all that Mac Savvy, are there any tips from you Mac users out there? I assume Macs "do" dhcp with the flip of a switch on some config screen - true? ...steve...
Hi - I was showing off my STN network connected to my RCN cable modem during turkey day. My brother (who lives in Boston) just got the MediaOne Road Runner cable modem and would like to implement STN with his Road Runner. Has anyone implemented STN with Media One? Are there any hidden gotcha's? My install with an old 486/33, two network cards, and a $20 hub went very smoothly. Basically, STN right out of the box. Thanks for any tips, ...steve...
