I have NetBIOS, NetBEUI and file and print sharing enabled on my PC (win 98 SE) and TCP/IP, AppleTalk and File Sharing enabled on my Mac (OS 10.1.4). Both machines are connected to the same linksys router, successfully sharing the same cable internet connection. However, even though I can ping back and forth, each machine is blind to the other (I'm having no more luck with Connect to Server or SMB Browse).
The closest I've gotten to logging onto the PC (with Sharity 2.7b) has resulted in the NetBIOS Name Lookup Failure message (Error Context: local machine). I checked the Sharity Troubleshooting pages and only got a definition of what that error means, with no attempt to troubleshoot it. I will appreciate any help.
