Since I asked - I should respond as well. Im an expat Canadian (left 20+ years ago) based in Eastern Europe. And if you haven't checked my websites, I'm ex/current Microsoft. I'm not an employee anymore, so I'm "ex". But I am a Microsoft Regional Director and nearly all my current work comes from Microsoft in contract work. Im essentially doing the same as I did for MS as an employee, but on more dynamic terms. I do have a Microsoft email. I'm posting this mostly for disclosure so it doesn't come as a surprise later. I am not involved in commercial development at Microsoft however, and I am completely independent to do as I please. So no conflicts of interest.... I do mostly presentations, training (To MS employees, and MS partners), provide advise and input, and act a liaison to open source and other communities.
