I'm very happy to inform you that as of today (2008/1/1) we have
successfully finished our first milestone release, and the file
releases are now available from SourceForge.net. We've got both
tarballs and zips separated into packages for binary, source, and
both. We have also posted an ISO download so you can test SharpOS on a
real computer.

As many of you know, this release is a proof of concept one, and the
focus of the kernel has been to create a demonstration/diagnostics
shell that the user can interact with to pump information out of the
kernel. Many thanks to the developers who worked tirelessly on this so
that we could make the new years release!

I have also removed the "Draft" designation on the announcement and
moved it into a prominent place in the Wiki start page. I have also
submitted the draft article to OSNews for publication.

You can download it all from
http://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=196652

Thank you for supporting SharpOS and I look forward to working with
you all over the course of the new year!
