While I agree with the sentiment of careful commits, the buddy system is not
practical for handling the situation when we have a high level of momentum
from newcomers, and a normal level of activity for current project members,
such as in the last couple of weeks.

People are literally talking in the chat room "I did this", and "then I'll
do that" - and quite frankly if we put every single person on hold for a
couple days, we'll chase most of them away.

So this is a touchy issue, but I personally plan on continuing to submit
patches that I've approved. Granted, I'll make intelligent decisions about
usefulness and functionality - but for now,  I think this is the best we can
do.
