While I think SoC participation is something to strive for, I don't think we
are quite mature enough yet. We could decide to start gutting stuff
tomorrow, and there would be no point in anyone having helped if we did, ya
know?
We are just now getting to the point where we have constant interest in the
project, from people that haven't been around forever. But we still aren't
*organized* enough. For example, our website is barely even usable, (I knew
there was a reason I didn't like Ruby...) - which as long as that isn't a
hangup for us, then we aren't organized enough to deserve sponsorship. (Not
that there is anything wrong with that!)
So, I don't think this year is reasonable. But next year? Definitely! By
then, JIT, drivers, and budding network/graphics/sound stacks? Who wouldn't
want to sponsor the project!?
