Singularity's source code is provided for non-commercial academic research ONLY. SharpOS is not academic, it is not research, and it is not necessarily non-commercial. The licensing is very incompatible.
Being exposed to the Singularity source code, and then proceeding to contribute code to SharpOS puts this project at a liability for the same reason that Mono is made liable when developers have studied Rotor. So please refrain from looking at the Singularity source code if you intend to contribute. If you have already glanced at the Singularity code I recommend you delete it and never mention it again as long as you intend to contribute here. If you have more extensive study time under your belt with the code, then I'm sorry but we can no longer accept code contributions from you. This is not an official policy of SharpOS yet, but most likely it will be. I've sent off this mail because we've already seen people who have accessed and read the code and I'd like to make sure everyone understands the legal implications-- it would be a shame if someone weren't aware of them and then ended up not being able to contribute. -- fury long name: William Lahti handle :: fury freenode :: xfury blog :: http://xfurious.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
