Please join us in a public meeting to discuss the SharpOS Project! It is scheduled for 1800 GMT today (Saturday), which is approx 1300 (1 PM) EST.
Some potential topics: * New meeting scheme: It might be a good idea to pick a more flexible meeting model for future meetings to accommodate our disparate time zones * Logging: we need to improve Sharpbot coverage (new host or a shared hosting setup). He has no maintainer or permanent host (although a few of the board members have been trying to fill some of the gaps). The code needs to be profiled and checked for memory and performance bugs, which has presented issues with previous hosts. We could choose an alternate logging system or bot for the interim, to ensure public logs for our channel. * Coding style: we currently follow Mono's coding style guides, but few if any of us follow it precisely. There may be exceptions that we wish to adopt: - Space before parentheses / brackets? - Size 8 tabs? - Others? * Discussion: Driver Interfaces, ideas, models, methods to ensure code safety efficiently, etc. * Sharing infrastructure with Ensemble and/or Cosmos * Brief on current projects from developers (as time and developer availability permits) - Driver System - Filesystem / Block devices - VFS layer - AOT development / generics - Please speak up about your project if you're working on SharpOS or related project! * Volunteers/discussion? (for some much needed projects) - Documentation and Design: in-code documentation, code review, howtos, technical documents, redesigns, etc - Testcases: more IL, AOT and kernel testcases, unification of the testcase system, - Korlib/corlib integration - complete string support - reflection support - console rewrite using objects We invite and urge you to participate in the discussions so that we can thoroughly cover each topic. For those who cannot make it, please reply to this email on any topics which rouse your interest. I'll try to do my best to relay points from email to the meeting. Sharpbot will be enabled for the meeting and I will put up a summary/minutes of the discussions afterwards (it might take a day or two... until then there is http://sharpos.org/logs :-D). Regardless of the participation level in this meeting, we will continue the weekly meeting format one way or another, so this won't be the last chance to speak up!
