I've just looked into the issue. We need to update ruby to 1.8.6 and we could go to redmine 0.7.3 from 0.6.1 - sounds like major changes to me. Additionally we may need to update rails unless its part of the ruby package.
I'm not the most profound user of these shared hosting accounts - if we have a backup I could try my luck.
