Too bad you went offline on IRC before i could ask you; So you're saying that the system goes down in "SwitchToRealMode", even though you haven't even implemented the actuall real-mode "poweroff" code?
that's odd behaviour. I also noticed that in the example they used ljmp (long jump), i'm not entirely sure, but wouldn't that be the same as JMP_FAR? not JMP? also, it uses a 'grub' stack at a certain adress in memory, but i have no idea if that memory has been overwritten in the meantime (can anyone confirm this?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ SharpOS-Developers mailing list SharpOS-Developers@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sharpos-developers
