No, not yet. I think we have implemented the essential part of Sheepdog features, but testing is not enough yet. Sheepdog is buggy, especially when new nodes join the Sheepdog and existing nodes leave. > b) If not how long do we need to wait ? We plan to stabilize it until the early next month, and after that, we will send the patch to the qemu-devel mailing list. You should wait until at least that. > c) What kind of contribution do you look for, apart from Development, please > mention them clearly in TODO list ? What we expect other than development are following: 1) Testing We want to fix as many bugs. Please test Sheepdog, and send bug reports to this mailinglist. 2) Documentation We want to provide more detailed documents about what Sheepdog can provide and not, how to install and setup corosync and Sheepdog, how to help sheepdog development, and other important points to use/develop Sheepdog. 3) Performance evaluation Though we did a simple performance evaluation (the result is in http://www.osrg.net/sheepdog/_static/lca2010_miniconf.pdf), it is not enough at all. We want to know detailed read/write performance and scalability of Sheepdog. > d) Does project has bug tracking tool, to raise bugs ? No. Please send them to this mailing list. > e) What would be the optimal test setup to test the Sheepdog ? We assume that Sheedog runs on the homogeneous environment, so it is better to setup with same specification machines. > f) If node fails how will we come to know about it ? We can know from the output of `shepherd info -t dog'. > g) Already deployed Customers scenarios, if any ? It is difficult from the view points of performance. But in future, we may plan it if required.
