Are you trying to take a snapshot of a running VM? Unfortunately, the only way to take live snapshots is a 'savevm' command from qemu monitor now. To support live snapshots from collie or qemu-img commands, we need to modify sheepdog block driver code so that it reloads a vdi object after a snapshot is taken.
