He's using the rack from the 90 vehicle so no need to drill anything.
Just bolt it on. The geometery didnt change till the cast arm's were put
on in 91. You will need an alignment of course but that's a different
topic. Hopefully you're using the bigger sway bar as well.

DO NOT USE THE 1988 Shelby Z rear brakes! They suck, Mostly the parking
brake system. You need to find a set of 11" rear disc's off a GTC
Lebaron or a Shelby Daytona. With the later discs you can use your
current ebrake cable. Also the braking will be more balanced. It's all
bolt on as well. You will need the rubber brake line that goes from the
caliper to the metal brake line. I hooked just that short rubber piece
into my drum brake lines with a bit of careful bending to the drum line
on my 87 New Yorker which I basically did the same swap you are doing to
just a month or so ago.

You might also try and find a 86-88 rear axle with the solid rear sway
bar as well. They got the best bushings (i.e. Poly is a downgrade on
them) and in 89 they got big fat rubber bushings where poly is an
upgrade on those. And in 90+ they got the big rubber bushings but the
axle is also longer so you can't use that.

Hope this helps,

Jay Jochec

You may need to drill the mounting holes in the Steering rack to fit the
larger bolts used in the later K-members. Make sure you properly clean
the threads in the K-member so that you can use loktite on the mounting
bolts. You do not want those bolts coming loose (and they do, hence why
they upgraded the bolt diameter in the later years)

The struts will mount up the same. The geometry change is all done via
the location of the pickup points for the control arms, the control arms
and the upright. Be aware that some people have had issues with the
wheels ending up too far forward causing rubbing issues with larger
wheels/tires.

Good luck,
Stefan
