There comes a time in life when after evaluating the lineup of project vehicles you're working on when you make the decision that you need to "take some irons out of the fire" and simplify your life. When you try to tackle too many complicated projects sometimes your possessions can start to own you.
It was a hard decision to make but I came up with a solution to help me wrap up one project and speed up the other process of completing another one. Other than my ongoing work on daily drivers (and an older backup ride) I've own two main project vehicles I've been working on for quite a while whenever time, money & technical assistance are available. The more involved of the two is my 1982 Rampage Sport. The idea was to go with a unique retro musclecar theme with a built 2.2/2.5 engine with a pair of dual carbs and a modified interior & custom exterior. Later on down the road I may get back to creating what I planned, but for now I've decided it's a wiser decision to part out this incomplete project and put the money into reviving my 1987 Shelby CSX. I bought #172 a number of years back from a local guy when the mileage was still pretty reasonable and he placed it up for sale after it suffered front end damage from an accident. To avoid some of problems (and financial losses) that I experienced the last time I sold an unfinished project car, I decided to break it down into parts instead of trying to find someone looking to assemble it like I wanted to. Since some of these items are large or hard to ship, I may be able to deliver some of them in person if you (or a local friend) is driving to SDAC in Michigan or the All Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle,PA. If I can get some overdue repairs done in enough time on my company minivan (and can afford the gas) I'm trying my best to attend both events this year. It looks like I've got a local buyer for the rebuilt engine (and possibly the body) but I've got a number of very choice parts left over I'm putting up for sale. The first is the the black interior. I'd like to potentially keep this as a package deal so someone has all the needed items to convert their weathered stock interior into a sharp looking musclecar style solid black interior that easily matches and custom color exterior paint job. It contains four items. 1) The most hard to find item in this package is the 1982 Rampage Sport premium black door panels. They're in excellent condition and are extremely hard to find let alone in great shape. They use the heavier textured black fabric at the top and black carpet on the lower sections. They were only used on the higher optioned trucks with the red striped seats like the 82 Rampage Sport and the 83 Rampage 2.2's. 2) Brand new (never installed) L body black carpet. I bought it off someone on the list who never ended up needing it. 3) One set of bucket seats from a low mile, well optioned 1990 Daytona Shelby. They're in solid black with a heavy textured fabric that's a great match for the upper section of the Rampage Sport door panels. They can easily be made to fit using L body seat tracks with a simple adapter bracket. 4) An early model (pre-1984) dashboard assembly. It's the same as the 82 & 83 Rampage as well as the Scamp GT, but different than the ones the later turbo cars used. It's in in black and in great shape with no cracks with all the stuff like wiring and instrument cluster intact. If you're converting to a later style dash or you don't need to replace yours I'll consider selling it separately. I'd be looking to get 200.00 for the above items. The next item is a rare Mopar Performance catalog dual carb 2.2 manifold. I bought it new many years back and it's set up just like a regular manifold but it has openings for a pair of regular downdraft carbs. I picked up a pair of used Weber carbs (with the special linkage)and had my engine builder build some adapter plates to properly mount them on the manifold. You make need to do some minor adapting for your application, but all the main items are intact. As a free bonus item on this deal, I'll include a free later style (ZF) power steering pump and mounting bracket since I discovered that the early style metal pumps do not have the clearance to fit properly. 300.00 for everything. Next is a new item that almost everybody with a two door L body will need- one pair of brand new NOS outer door window weatherstrip sections. These rubber seals will replace dried up ones and keep water and debris from getting in your doors and causing them to rust out when the drains get clogged. 165.00 set. While the next item is not a Mopar part, they are well made item that looks quite sharp (and enhance engine air flow) on a variety of applications. I've got a pair of heavy fiberglass bolt-on hood scoops that came from a 1984-85 Nissan 300ZX turbo. I was planning on using them as a pair side by side so I leveled them down make them set more flat (since one side set slightly higher than the other to fit one side of the Nissan hood). They could some minor work (one needs a replacement stud) but they're better than most of the cheap plastic stick on scoops made today. I'd like to get 50.00 for each of them. I'll have a more assorted items from the Rampage available as it gets disassembled and I'll likely have some stock 1987 CSX interior pieces (seats), etc be available as well. Let me know if you're looking for some Rampage stuff. Some trades will be considered because I'll need a few assorted parts for my 1987 CSX such a good grille, a Shelby valve cover, a new Walbro 255 fuel pump and some performance upgrades like a side pillar gauge pod, some high end 5x7 speakers for the rear, performance handling parts, etc. David Salamone Jacksonville, Florida 904-388-4040 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING_________ ShelbyDodge mailing list [email protected] http://www.imagilist.com/mailman/listinfo/shelbydodge
