I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're asking, but I'll take a stab at 
it:  Sounds like you need to dump the stock tach.  It is known for being 
inaccurate (as are the rest of the factory gauges)  Pick up a name brand tach, 
if you're a good fab person, you can build a new dash piece and fit the new 
tach and almost make it look factory.  If you need the rest of the gauges, they 
are available in a kit.

The key to getting a good tach signal, is getting a clean signal.  This 
potentially means shielding the wire, changing ground points, changing 
connections and connectors, etc.

The MegaSquirt forum has a fair amount of information on correcting tach signal 
issues (MegaSquirt is very similar to SDS, so they have common "challenges" to 
overcome, though MegaSquirt has a larger knowledge base I think)

If you're having problems with the rest of your gauges, then perhaps you really 
need to focus on their grounds and ensure they are all working properly and 
then work on their signal connections as well.
