Posted this on T-M this AM. Another gremlin is gone. My CSX cars are
running great now. And, just in time for SDAC. Maybe I can get the
convertible to the drag strip for a pass..... I would have been
embarrassed to do so until now.

Well, since I was on a roll getting #173 fixed after a couple of years of
a nuisance problem that finally revealed itself, I decided to tackle the
nuisance problem in my CSX #290 convertible (CLONE) The Throttle Position
Sensor had thrown a code intermittently ever since I had built the car.
Didn't happen all the time, but whenever it did, you get 16mpg and very
poor performance. The car also never has run the way I thought it should
after the vast amount of time, $$$, and performance parts I put into it.
So, I bought another TPS connector from this list (Thanks to mrcsx55) and
decided that it just *might* be that the connector was coming loose
occasionally due to not having a latch. I wired in the new connector, and
somehow during the process, the TPS code was back and wouldn't go away. I
double checked all the wiring connections and they were OK per the FSM. I
got out the DRB Box and the voltage was solid at 1.37Volts, no matter
where the throttle was. At least the problem is now constant. Long story
short, I traced the failure back to Q106 on the logic board. The
transistor must have been weak, and was occasionally making the TPS code
go off. Now, after the rewire and recheck, I found the transistor to be
defective. I replaced it with one off an old useless board, and now the
car runs like it never has before. Plenty of boost (over 20psi), great
drivability, and I hope it gets better than 16mpg now. I will drive out a
tank of gas and see. I'm glad it didn't sell on that auction site now.
Both of my cars are running great now. Electrical gremlins be gone.
