Hey guys, I have owned and raced 4 of these cars with the A555 trannys. I
bought 2 of my Daytona Shelbys Zs new (87 and 88). The sysnthetic MOBILE 1 OIL
with the Slick 50 additive have been life savers for my trannys.? I was able to
compare my wifes 88 Daytona Shelby Z with the mobile 1 oil and the slick 50
manual transmission treatment? that I serviced my wifes car with just before
she drove from Tulsa OK to Miami, Fl (home) to my 87 Daytona Shelby Z that was
normal.

About 2 months after she was in Miami, I flew down to visit her. I was noticing
right away the tranny on her car shifted alot smoother and it was so much
quieter than when I flew home and got back into my 87 Daytona Shelby Z to drive
home fro the airport when I got back. I noticed a big difference and since
then, I have serviced another 87 Daytona Shelby z that I had bought with 90K
miles on it back in 1996 (which is still running around somewhere in New York
because I sold it on Ebay) my current 89 Daytona Shelby which has 160K miles on
it was done about 6 years ago when I was restoring the car. It still to this
day shifts perfect and I do drive hard because I take it to the track often
here in Miami.

So, if you want to think that redline is the only way to go, or that your
should use some regular oil because someone told you to use it nfor some
technical reasons, remember this, I was speaking to the Mopar tranny guy and
the area director about tranny oils years ago and they said to stay synthetic
because it's cleaner. I have taken their advice eer since.

I am always concerned with heat living down south this far in Miami, so i stay
with what works...
