Sounds like the turbo is getting a straight feed from the intake, i.e. the
wastegate solenoid isn't working properly.

Any codes?

Did you disturb the speed sensor? As crazy as it sounds the computer does
pay attention to the speed sensor and uses it vary the output for the
cooling fan, wastegate solenoid, alternator field coils, etc.... though it
should set a code if it has failed.

Another more likely possibility is a hole in one of the hoses or a broken
vacuum line.

Good luck,
Stefan

Subject: SD> Low boost in GLHS

Hi All,

I have a low boost problem with my 87 GLHS. The car was fine a few weeks
ago. I did a Heim joint conversion to the shifting linkage and the car has
been slower since. I can't see any bad hoses and all are connected. I'm
boosting at about 5 lbs. The car is stock. If I pull the wastegate hose
off the solenoid, it boosts fine. Hook it back up and it's back down to 5
lbs. The solenoid is fine. What should I look for? I can't believe I
disturbed anything under the hood during the HJ conversion.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
