You can use 5th gear from a 520 if you also chnange 5th gear on the mainshaft. 5th gear is the only one you can change though because it isn't an integrated part of the main shaft.
How did you break 5th? That is the one that usually takes the least abuse... :)
The late model 523 gear might also work and would be the next strongest after the 555/568 gear. I am pretty sure that all of the 5th gears are compatible but it should be checked...
All of our 5th gears are either .71 or .72 so it wouldn't be very noticeable if you change the ratio (about 1mph at 3k rpm).
