I had the same issue with my GLHT and the 2.5" system. That 2.5" is
nearly too big.  I don't know how the guys with the 3" system do it. I
installed a Magnaflow straight-through muffler that gave me a little
play at the joint and placed the rear exhaust hanger at just about the
correct position which solved maybe 80% of the problem. For a little
extra help, I tweaked the pipe at the horizontal 90-degree bend as it
turns around the tank towards the back. I needed maybe 92-93 degrees;
just a touch. Now, the only time I hear any interference noise from it
is when I take a hard right turn and it bumps into the front left corner
of the fuel tank. I'm not going to worry about it.
