Going to a larger mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust helps a bunch as the stock
exhaust necks down to 1-7/8" over the rear axle :(  If you state does not
have emissions testing you can gain even more w/o a cat on it.  3" exhaust
is even better but more pricey and harder to route.  A good straight thru
oval can muffler such as a Dynomax magnum Oval or Maganflow will flow well
and provide a nice deep tone.

Boost controllers will definitely make the most bang for the buck but you
need to make sure you add fuel as well.  I would free up the exhaust and
raise the boost/fuel together to add enough power that you wont get bored
with it for a while :)
