http://www.FWDperformance.com can provide you with a custom computer, ready to
go.

If you poke around the Yahoo Groups for D-Cal you can learn to tweak it
yourself.

If you're really wanting total control with a newer processor and truly open
source software, rewire the car for MegaSquirt

http://www.megasquirt.info

(some neat things people have done with MS is knock sensing, boost control,
traction control, anti-lag, distributorless ignition, etc.)

Otherwise you'd have to find an 88 Shadow turbo to get the correct update
harness and even then the connectors are different at the firewall I believe.

As for the tires, you're out of luck I think. I did buy a set of Kumho ECSTA's
in 225/50 15 not too long ago from DiscountTireDirect.com, they worked pretty
well.

Welcome back and good luck!

Subject: SD> Need custom computer, 87 CSX 2.5 t2

Wow, this board is a blast from the past! I've been working and playing
with motorcycles for years now, and my SDs have been sitting patiently
waiting for me to spend time with them again. My fire was re-lit when
the guy I sold my 91 R/T to popped the motor (well...intermediate shaft
let go) so I'm in the middle of rebuilding that. It's got me thinking
"turbocar" again! So...I'm about to put the engine back in my 87 CSX,
and need a custom computer. It's been so long my terminology may be
wrong...please forgive me!

Anyway. It's a t2 like always, with a garrett S70 turbo, ported 2pc
intake and +40s. I may put in a FMIC or might just run stock, I haven't
decided yet. A523 trans. Stock wiring and computer setup (underhood MAP,
power/logic arrangement, etc). But...I built it on a 2.5 CB bottom end.
Does anyone have a way to load a 2.5 map (different spark and fuel
curves) into an 87 power module? Do I need to socket it? I used to do
component level electronic repair, so socketing it (soldering) shouldn't
be an issue with good instructions.. :) The computer and I are in
Maryland if anyone's local(ish), I'd love to lend a hand and re-learn
some of the intricacies of the ol' TD's!

Either that...or will a later SMEC/SBEC wiring harness plug into the
bulkhead and I can swap the engine bay over?

Last (unrelated) question - nobody (like Coker Tire) makes reissues of
the ol' Gatorback tires, do they? I need a new set of shoes for my
wide-tire 89 CSX. 225/50-15s are tough to find in general, though. I may
just paint some 16" pumpers gold and get 16s for ease, for the time
being. Anyone know a paint code for the gold?

thanks!
