I just wanted to get a quick (last minute) word out about some interesting things going on the upcoming All-Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, PA this Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
As per many previous years I've got a block of vendor spaces I've set up that my fellow FWD vendors and I call the "Turbo Dodge Vendor Group". I got the group idea when I first set up as a vendor alone back in 2000 and thought a "one stop" shopping area for the Shelby Dodge crowd would be a good idea and it's been a hit ever since. We have a block of four adjoining spaces in one of the best locations among the nearly 3,000 spaces within the fairgrounds. We're located at spaces I-97 to I-100 and if you can't find us just hop the tram (train) and when it cuts through the vendor area it goes right down our row. You'll see plenty of large Shelby Dodge banners and company signs. The lineup is still myself, David Salamone from Positive Impressions, Chris Wright from Turbos Unleashed and usually Johnny Spiva from PolyBushings.com comes along but he can't make it this year so I'm till working on a surprise guest to take his place (more on that later). For those of you not as familiar with this awesome show I wanted to give a quick rundown of what's going on for 2010. For all the details you can check out their official website at: http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/chrysler-nationals/index.asp For "Dukes Of Hazzard" fans one of this year's event highlights is a guest appearance by veteran character actor James Best, best known for his role as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane in the classic TV hit. He'll be signing his book and meeting with fans amongst the orange '69 Chargers. Also in a rare appearance is the #2 original "Black Beauty" which is Dean Jeffries modified 1966 Chrysler Imperial from the 1966 TV show "The Green Hornet" starring Van Williams and Bruce Lee. Now saving the best for last.....I just received news about an extremely rare appearance of another original Hollywood vehicle of huge cult following status among FWD Dodge fans. Some know it as the "Dodge M4S" concept car built by Dodge & PPG Industries for an estimated $1,500,000 and was powered by Chrysler 2.2 engine with a Cosworth 16-valve, twin-cam cylinder head that produced over 400 horsepower thanks to twin Garrett T25 turbochargers. Most of us simply know it as the Turbo Interceptor from 1987 movie "The Wraith". http://www.thewraithcar.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=359&sid=68f8e547e9f8f2d61c0b17f80dcaef00 Also appearing with the car at the show will be Bob Ackerman, the chief designer of the Dodge M4S. Bob may have some stops to make in between, but he will be at the display helping show off the Wraith car. Bob will also have plenty of memorabilia and photos of the car on site. Read more about the restoration of this famous prop car at www.thewraithcar.com On behalf of everybody I look forward to seeing everybody there...
