Mike,
Its possible the engine is not properly centered. You'll want to be
sure if you pry the engine over that you arent causing it to be uncentered as
you can run into axle problems. Check on the forums for the centering
procedure, but if i remember right you need to put the car on jack stands, then
undo both axle bolts at the hub (the big 1-1/4" ones). This is where my memory
goes fuzzy but i think you want to push in on axles and see that you can move
them (compress the CV joint) approximately the same distance on both sides. If
the engine is too far over one way it will be more difficult to push the axle
in. So assuming the engine is centered properly hopefully then you can get
your rear mount in straight.
