My husband is also shia imamiah. During the night of Asyura that was on 15th December 2010, me and family went to Hawzah Ar-Redho located at Taman Sri Gombak, nearby the city centre of Kuala Lumpur to remember the syahid of Imam Hussain as. However, while we were at the middle of our program, the religious authourities from the State of Selangor known JAIS or Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (in Malay language) came to raid the premises. We were accused of practicing deviated religion just because we are shias imamiah isna asyariah. Our ustaz, Ustaz Kamil Zuhairi and our guest from Jameah Mustafa Hojatul Islam Mohsen Rachmad were taken away for interrogation and investigation the very same night. The next day both of them were brought to shariah court and were bailed out late in the afternoon. They will be charged in Kuang Shariah Court on 20/1/2011 for practising shiism. Those who participated in the program of the night of asyura approximately around 150-200 of us, were summoned to the Religious Department at Shah Alam or known as JAIS. At to date those who went for interrogation and investigation were also asked to attend shariah court at later given dates which eventually will be charged for practising shiism and if found guilty will be put in prison among other criminals ie the rapist, murderer, robbers etc. For the past 3 days, the medias in Malaysia (TV and newspapers) have mounted their attack against us by accusing and slandering us for being deviated. They also accused us by saying that the Shias believed that the blood of the Sunnis are halal and it is okay for a Shia to kill a Sunni. Further, the Shia believed that the wahyu or message should reach Saidina Ali and not the Holy Prophet and that the Gabriel had made a mistake for giving the risalah to Prophet Muhammad. That the marriage between a sunni and shia is not valid and accepted and that the children who came out from that marriage are children out of wedlock or zina children All these statements came from their ulama/religious scholars who are also holding high positions in the Religious Department/Affairs of Malaysia. The Religious Authority and/or the Government of Malaysia has vowed to do a massive crack down against our shias community in Malaysia and to raid all hussainiah and hawzahs in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and other States in Malaysia. For what is happening to us all here now, we plead and beg our brothers and sisters of the same faith and iman and the lovers of Ahlul Bayt alaihumussalam out there to pray for our safety and to do what it can so that the prejudice and prosecution from our own government against us all can be stopped.
