Ryanne,
Here at Shimmer research we have just completed an updated version of the
Shimmer 9DOF Calibration Application which provides for both full gyroscope
and magnetometer calibration along with the existing accelerometer
calibration. We are currently drafting the documentation/tutorial video
which should be completed for the end of next week. This should provide the
solution to your magnetometer calibration requirements.
Best regards,
Karol

Hi all,

I'm using Shimmer EMG and GSR sensors, I want to know if there is any video
demos about how to use them ?
And am I supposed to calibrate them before usage? If yes, how should I
calibrate them? is there any video demos?

Bests,

Hello,

I have a question about the calibration of the magnetometer of the
shimmer.

Because the 9DOF Calibration application does not provide an automated
calibration procedure for calculating magnetometer calibration
parameters, I am looking for a method to calibrate the magnetometer.

Can someone tell me a good (and quite easy to perform) method to
calibrate the magnetometer of the shimmer?

Many thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Ryanne

hi ryanne,

the magnetometer chipset has a built-in self test that was implemented
in the driver and exposed via a call to Magnetometer.selfTest(). a
description of what it means relative to calibration is in the Hmc5843's
datasheet (attached) on the last page.

i hope that this helps,

steve
