Since you are pulling so much power, let me refine my recommendation-- 1) expansion power follows shimmer main board power: use a silicon power switch IC or regulator on your expansion that has a logic-high power enable. Tie that power enable to a TCM809/TCM810 3-pin power supply monitor IC that is monitoring the 3.0V rail from Shimmer.
