Have you tried power cycling the "bad shimmers"?
If you've used shimmer-connect, you may have noticed an 8 second delay
in the beginning of gyro transmission.

The IDx500 series gyros are sensitive to power-up not being monotonic.
This situation occurs during the BSL process due to the pins I picked
on the duaghterboard (oops) and for legacy reasons we're staying with
them as the fix is easy.

1) add 8 seconds of gyro "off" time before enabling gyro power at the
beginning of your app.
2) manually power down shimmer (with power button on dock/shimmer)
after using BSL.
