Hi Daniel,

Span will work with the standard TinyOS apps. Great place to start will be
to check the BaseStation app:
https://github.com/tinyos/tinyos-main/tree/master/apps/BaseStation

There are also a couple of other examples that make use of the 802.15.4
radio and are explained in the TinyOS tutorials:
http://docs.tinyos.net/tinywiki/index.php/Mote-mote_radio_communication
 and
http://docs.tinyos.net/tinywiki/index.php/Mote-PC_serial_communication_and_S
erialForwarder

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
Jong Chern

Subject: [Shimmer-users] Span-Platform

Hi Folks,

I'm a total newbie to programming and the shimmer world, and although I'm
glad I found someone experienced to support me
with my project, maybe someone out there had a similar task and already some
code he/she could provide us with.

I'm suffering from what is called "jactatio capitis nocturna", which means I
have the habit to shake my head sometimes at night-time - particularly
during REM-Sleep, which is successively killing my upper cervical.

Now my plan is to use the Shimmer to monitor my sleep and to wake me up when
I start shaking my head.

Therefor I need:

1. Connect the Shimmer via Span - Platform (802.15.4 Radio) to my Mac (or
virtual Windows/Linux), and
2. Write a program that registers when defined patterns occur in the
accelerometer data and make some noise

If someone's got anything that could help, I'd be extremely grateful.

Cheers,

Daniel
