I've found that running 'mvn eclipse:eclipse' and importing the generated 
project is much easier than the Eclipse setup described in the document.

Is the Maven plugin worth the added complication (especially for developers new 
to Shindig)?

This is a great start, Bruno. I think we actually have a top level README
for every top level directory now, with specific instructions on usage.
Hopefully we can incorporate this into the contributors guide that Dan &
John are working on.
