I think that as long as you close the script tag, you can do whatever you like. If you have a look at this: http://opensocial-resources.googlecode.com/svn/samples/tutorial/tags/api-0.7/gifts_1_friends.xml which is on the opensocial examples site, it includes javascript from a 3rd party.
