Hi Chris,
Is the current PHP shindig gadget server, generating this security token?
The project I downloaded from http://chabotc.com/shindig.tar.gz did not had
any such function to generate the security token before generating the html.

The security token is generated by the gadget container (meaning the
website site), and it contains the owner, viewer, app id, module id,
syndicator (aka container name, this relates to the back end config to
use thats passed onto gadgets), the application url and i believe the
domain key.
In a real life situation the container would generated an encrypted
security token which contains this information, which is then
communicated to the server on things like social data requests, which
tells the social data backend who the viewer/owner/etc is, and the crypto
makes sure this is indeed valid information.
In the example i linked its a non encrypted security token, which is
great for debugging and testing but not so useful for real life
situations ofc :)

Lini,
That gadget renders fine, as long as the security token is included.
If you had run it from sample container, or put the url into one of
the example files, it would've had this security token, which contains
the owner & viewer info that the gadget requires :)
With security token you get this:
http://shindig.chabotc.com/gadgets/ifr?url=http://mrallen.com/scramble/gadget.xml&st=john.doe:john.doe:appid:synd:url:0
About the sample containers, i didn't write those their a separate
project pretty much that are used by both the java and php shindig
servers, so i'll leave it to others to go into detail about that.

Hi Chris,
Is this shindig PHP server working for all gadgets. I checked for
this gadget: http://mrallen.com/scramble/gadget.xml. This works fine
with the gmodules site as the gadget server. But when using this xml
with shindig, it does not gives any output.
Also I would like to know /src/socialdata/samplecontainer folder
files. What functions are the ones that have been implemented as an
example and whats their purpose. Sorry, if i am asking for any basic
information. But to implement it, I would like to know its function.

Hi Lini,
The code in the SVN is about a month out of sync with current
developments, however my commit access just got sorted today so that
means the new code will be in by tomorrow probably!
In the meantime you could download http://chabotc.com/ shindig.tar.gz
to tie you over, it has the working social data interface.
Now if you look at that code you will see a number of Base*.php files
in src/social/samplecontainer, these are basic examples of how you
would implement your own 'data interfaces'. If you need some help
with
getting started with that, feel free to shoot me a mail.
