Hi everyone, Now that 0.8 has materialized, it falls on us to implement it. There were over 40 changes in this version of the spec, and they affect everything from the gadget schema to various features.
Some of these changes have already been implemented. Almost all of them are backwards compatible with 0.7, and the ones that aren't are mostly not compatible for minor reasons that allow us to treat them as compatible changes anyway. Please speak up (ideally open a JIRA issue) about any implementations of 0.8 items so that we don't step on each other's toes. I'll be diving into various pieces soon, and I suspect others will be doing the same. If anyone has a pressing need to get certain items implemented sooner rather than later, but isn't comfortable with trying to submit a patch, please send us an email and we'll see what we can do. We will eventually get all 0.8 items implemented, but naturally we're going to have a certain bias towards implementing things that we need personally at a higher priority than others.
