Hey OpenSocial spec folks and Shindig folks,
The forwarded note below talks about the OpenSocial Foundation and provides
some links to get involved as official members of the OpenSocial Foundation
and then nominate individuals to serve on the foundation's Board of
Directors. If you have ideas about who would make good representatives of
the community, please get involved and nominate them. There are 2 seats
available.

Membership application:

Board of directors nomination form:

By the way, if you have ideas for the foundation, the community, or other
items that aren't explicitly about the technical specification, I'd
encourage you to post on the OpenSocial Community forum:

Subject: The OpenSocial Foundation -- membership and board of directors
nominations
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey everyone,
For those who didn't see the blogpost, I wanted to drop a note here with an
update about the OpenSocial Foundation:
http://opensocialapis.blogspot.com/2008/09/good-foundation-for-opensocial-get.html

The OpenSocial Foundation's purpose is to make sure the work we're doing --
together -- remains free for everyone to implement and accessible for anyone
who wishes to be involved. This means that we're putting together an
intellectual property rights management process like is typical with many
open source projects. To be clear, the OpenSocial Foundation board is
explicitly designed to avoid top-down governing of
OpenSocial's technological directions -- that will remain a public,
community-driven process. You can read more about the OpenSocial Foundation
here: http://www.opensocial.org/opensocial-foundation

In addition, the OpenSocial Foundation has a board of directors composed of
7 seats -- 2 of which are to be filled by individual members of the
community.

If you'd like to become a member of the foundation, you can then also
nominate and vote on who should fill those two seats:

Membership application:
http://www.opensocial.org/opensocial-foundation/osf-membership-app

Board of directors nomination form:
http://www.opensocial.org/opensocial-foundation/osf-community-nomination

Get involved today!

Cheers,
-Dan
