Hmm we seem to have gone from 'ok again' to 'woops what just happened':

# svn update

failed: SSL error: unknown protocol (https://svn.apache.org)

i've tried this on 2 different boxes/locations, odd... will retry in a
couple of hours and if it's still failing hit the infrastructure list
