SocialSite is great, but it doesn't help you when you've already got an established product. "Use SocialSite" would have been a non-starter for hi5, LinkedIn, Orkut, or any of the other established sites that use Shindig.
I do agree that if you're building a brand new site from scratch, though, SocialSite is a great option.
