Sure I agree, the error message should be prettier, however it would help if
you added datatype="string" to the user pref.

On the other hand
http://code.google.com/apis/gadgets/docs/reference.htmldoes mention
the default type is 'string', I don't suppose you could file a
bug on code.google.com/p/partuza for that?
