The REST and RPC protocol handling needs to decoupled from the social APIs to
allow for the implementation of makeRequest functionality using those
protocols. This is necessary to accomodate the Data Pipelining enhancements for
Opensocial 0.9
In addition it should be simple for developers to add other services exposed
via these protocols in their implementations
Lastly we should expose service metadata to facilitate the development of
os-lite which is a thin wrapper around the exposed protocols.
