That is a must - while still liking the idea of having multiple config parsers
like the salt configuration system. Especially variable handling
could probaly redefined in a more convient way than it has to be done in the
nagios syntax.

[switched just yesterday to 2.0.3 available from debian unstable and noticed
after adding a debug statement:
 Debug :   [ui-graphite] 
file=/home/shinken/src/etc/graphite-templates/check_disk_$_HOSTDISK_LOAD_PEAK_DB$.graph
I found a simple workaround, but that filename looks ugly.]

If you define "small" as only within one network - ok. A big plus of
shinken is the distributed nature, which allows to monitor
serveral (private) networks without giving a central host access to all 
those. A well known german IT magazine warned recently about the 
security risks for a company with centralised monitoring host.

That - besides beeing written in python ;-) - was our main reason.
