Unable to implement create/read/update session

I am running into issues setting up create/read/update/delete session (based
on Shiro's SessionDAO) implementation to store sesssion information in
backend DB.  After the user is successfully logged in via
getSubject.login(token), it goes through couple of read/update part of the
code and never loads the application web page.
