overlapping thingies

I'm seeing text and controls overlap in OSX.  The only cure I see is  
introducing many more boxes, each with big margins, cluttering up my  
pretty code.  This how it seems to be fixed in the form sample.  Is  
there another cure?  A planned fix?  Here's some simple code to demo:
